Rosalia Bertorelli is the coordinator of the Translational Pharmacology Facility at the Italian Institute of Technology (Genova, Italy). She has a solid and documented experience in developing, planning, and coordinating preclinical studies, spanning from the biodistribution of nanostructures, to the pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic of drugs, and to the therapeutic efficacy of novel synthetic drugs. Furthermore, she has been involved in investigating new approaches for studying nanomaterials and their potential applications for human diseases.Rosalia Bertorelli supported different projects collaborating with at least 10 groups belonging to the nanotechnology and the Life Science/Drug Discovery areas of IIT and with academic and industrial groups. Briefly, she investigates new approaches for studying nanomaterials and their potential applications for human diseases for skin diseases and cancer, cerebral ischemia, pulmonary diseases, using the most appropriate animal models. She is responsible for the SDG14: life below water, inside the Sustainability initiative. She serves as reviewer for many journals including Nanomaterials, Journal of Controlled Release, Frontiers, International Journal of Nanomedicine, etc.
